Wedding Music - Overview

I provide live music for every stage of your wedding day, from the ceremony to the drinks reception, the main afters celebrations, and even Day 2 festivities. Whether you're looking for something intimate and personal, or high-energy and lively, I will tailor my set list to match your unique style and preferences, offering a range of genres including Irish, Country, Modern Hits, Classic Favorites, and Rock.

Having spent my early years performing on the Country & Irish dancing scene, I’ve had the privilege of supporting renowned artists such as Nathan Carter, Lisa McHugh, and many of the biggest stars in the country music scene. This experience has equipped me to seamlessly cater to both older and younger audiences, ensuring that your guests, no matter their age, will enjoy a memorable musical experience. I can offer a full Country & Irish set list, completely Modern/Classic hits, or a nice mix of all.

To ensure the perfect atmosphere for your big day, I offer a variety of performance options: solo, duo, 3-piece, and 4-piece band setups. For the 4-piece setup, couples have the option of selecting the 4th instrument based on their personal preferences, with options including Accordion, Fiddle, Keyboards, and a 2nd Guitar. If you have a particular instrument in mind that isn’t listed, I can do my best to source it to suit your needs, ensuring the music is exactly what you envision.

Additionally, my wedding policy prioritizes an early setup for the afters music. I aim to have all equipment in place before your guests enjoy their meals, ensuring they’re not left waiting for the entertainment and are not disturbed by the musicians moving gear. This can also allow us to soundcheck early, so there are no delays in starting the music and your celebration can go off without a hitch.

For those looking to extend the entertainment, I also offer a DJ service to keep the party going after the live music. While I am not a full-time DJ, I can play a great set to keep your guests dancing all night long. Alternatively, I can assist you in booking a professional DJ, as I have trusted contacts in the industry who specialize in this role.

Partybands.ie provides a variety of entertainment options, including musicians for your ceremony, drinks reception, afters and Day 2 celebrations, as well as offering other services like photo booths, party floors, and emergency replacement acts in case of illness. FAQ’s:

How long do you play for?: We play a 2 hour set, and if there is a break for finger food, we will take a break to let your guests eat. We will then make up the time on the other end, so essentially we would be 2.5 hours including a break for finger food.
First dance, do you play it live?: Yes, we are very happy to play your first dance live. Some couples insist on having a particular version played from Spotify rather than live, and we are able and happy to facilitate that also.
Does your mother still play accordion with you?: By request yes, but typically no. The bulk of our work is done as a 3 piece band, and for weddings we hire a 4th member on Fiddle, Keys, 2nd guitar, or if desired, accordion!
Can you play to young and old crowds? Yes absolutely. I have 2 blueprint set lists; 1-A city wedding setlist (Modern/Classic hits etc.) and 2- A country set list. (Mainy country & Irish). From there, you are welcome to choose either set list, and also tweak it in case you want a mix of both. I will send you our complete list of songs and we can tailor the set list as desired!

Ceremony Music

I can offer either solo or duo options for ceremony music;

Solo: Acoustic guitar and male vocals with the options of Tin Whistle/Guitar instrumentals as a solo performer.

Duo: I also offer a duo set up with either a female vocalist Liz Bryan, (see below) or with a second musician such as Fiddle or Keyboards (or other) etc. as desired.

Drinks Reception Music:

I offer a range of options for your drinks reception;

Solo: Acoustic Guitar, Vocals & stompbox pedal (Kick drum beat).

Duo: As above, add a second instrument of Fiddle, Keyboards or other instrument of your choice!

3 piece band: A larger ensemble for Weddings that want to start the day with a bang! Line up of Drums, Bass Guitar and myself on Electric and Acoustic Guitars.

4 piece band: Add fiddle/keys/other to the 3 piece band line up. Mostly chosen for Wedding Afters/Mains music later in the night.

Performance Style:

Typically I perform a “background music” laid back" style set including the likes of: Marry You-Bruno Mars, I’m Yours-Jason Mraz, The Island-Paul Brady etc. for a relaxed atmosphere.

This can set be made livelier at your request! (Especially if booking the band!) I’ve often played a relaxed set for the first half and livened it up with the typical party and pub favourites when I noticed the guests were equally as lively!

Wedding Mains/Afters Music

Options of:

Solo: Acoustic guitar, stompbox kick drum pedal for a beat and vocals. Ideal for smaller weddings, but I have equally played solo for larger weddings and had fantastic nights!

Duo-Add fiddle/keyboards/instrument of choice. Ideal for smaller to medium weddings!

3-piece band (Drums, Bass, Electric/Acoustic Guitar). Ideal for couples wanting a band experience at a lower budget compared to bigger member bands, but still packs a great punch!

4-piece band (add Keys, Fiddle, Accordion, Guitar 2 etc.) The full band. Ideal for a full hall with a big (but not too-loud) sound! Opens up options for things like a siege Of Ennis, Polka Set etc. with the extra instrument and sounds more full and rounded than the 3 piece. (Option to add a 5th member also available.)

Complimentary early set up of gear when booking the 3/4 piece band allowing option of early start (9-9:30pm). *Venue allowing.
Although not a professional DJ, I can offer a DJ service with a fast turn over when my gear is already set up. I’m not one for mixing or anything fancy, but I play the favourites, take requests and talk to the crowd. I may also pack some of my band equipment away but only when the next song is lined up!
I also work with many fantastic Professional Wedding DJ’s that I can reccommend, pass contact info, or get quotes on your behalf.
